Baby Sign Language Classes
All classes are taught by Deaf or Hard of hearing instructors. All proceeds are given to the Deaf and Hard of hearing instructors.
The parents will play games with their babies while learning 50 new ASL words together.  Each family will go home with a free online study plan to continue learning new ASL words while at home.

IMPORTANT RID NEWS!!!
August 9, 2015, New Orleans, LA – The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID) Board of Directors announce a moratorium on all performance exam testing and credentialing until the outcome of the risk assessment on testing and certification is complete and a clear plan of action developed.

Those wishing to take an RID performance exam will have until October 1, 2015, to apply. Those who apply by the deadline will then have until January 1, 2016, to take the exam.
This announcement was made during the NAD RID Town Hall Forum, held in New Orleans, LA, during the 2015 RID National Conference program schedule.  The town hall was live streamed on RID’s website at http://www.rid.org/live/.
The RID conference is offering two additional live streamed events in which this subject will be address:
Sunday, August 9, 2015 during the NAD RID Certification Committee Forum Monday, August 10, 2015 during the President’s Report at the Business Meeting.
More information, including FAQs, will be developed and shared as soon as they are available. I know that most Deaf now use relay operators or VRS, but I have an elderly deaf friend who has a new TTY and telephone that she does not use. Her son had it, but he never used it.
