Word Groups Workshop 

American Sign Language Vocabulary Expansion


Presenter: Barbara Lovas, ThD


Come join us for a fun filled interactive workshop. We will focus on vocabulary expansion with an emphasis on words in relationship to their glossed term and/or related word groups. Discussion of word origin and recognition of gestural components within each word group will provide helpful aids for memorization of the new words taught. Memorization tools and interactive games will make this an enjoyable and educational workshop!

I have the info!
If anyone wants to give back to the community this is a way to do so. Delgado community college is hosting its first ever volunteer service day. We want to see how many hours we can give back to the community with in our own community! We have a deadline for people who want to join us but if theres any late entries that will be find please contact Michel Greco, executive director of SGA and host of the Big Event. If any questions need to be answered feel free to contact me, Stefanie Dupre 504-401-3625  dupiesmd@hotmail. com. The event will start promptly at 9:00am-1pm. We are asking people to meet at Delgado city park campus at 8:45am to have people sign in and discuss all rules. Free t-shirts will be giving to all students/faculty to wear during this event. For those outside of school that wish to participate wear any comfortable clothes. Also, if your not a student/faculty you can meet at the Deaf church at 9am. If you are Deaf/HH there will be several ASL students there to interpret!!! Immediately following the event we will all, including people outside of Delgado, meet back a the campus and a hot FREE lunch will be provided as a thank you. Please bring all your own water and snacks if you need them! We will be doing some painting and whatever else John and Barbara want to add….
