in Woodworth, (south of Alexandria) Louisiana on November 13-15, 2009.
Our Guest speakers are Ms. Wendi Coker of Benton, and Barbara Lovas of New Orleans. They will provide workshops. We will have fun and crafts. Bring your Bible, and notebooks along. Invite your friends. Lets give our Praises to Our Lord!

at the Deaf Church?
this Sunday is the Lord’s Supper after church, bring your favorite food and come join us in a feast in rememberance of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you can’t bring food, that’s okay!
Bring yourself!!!

After the Lords supper there will be a 12 foot wide screen set up in the big building and a Saints Block Party, hosted by Hope Christian Church, the hearing church that rents from the Deaf Church.

Sundays 10:45 am (we first meet in hall for coffee and snacks at 10:30am)

Come Attend an Interpreter Workshop

ASL DO’s and DON’Ts for Interpreters

Taught by Anthony Natale, and presented in ASL, this workshop is designed to help participants improve interpreting techniques and discuss deaf culture’s perspective to avoid misunderstanding and misconception through deaf people’s experience. Instructor will lead an open discussion of Do’s and Don’ts while encouraging participants to share their opinions and knowledge.

Cost: Interpreters: $20.00, Students: $10.00,

Anthony Natale began teaching ASL 22 years ago in Los Angeles, California after completing his college education CSUN in Film, Art Theater, and American Sign Language. He began to divide his time between theater and ASL instruction He provides training in developing ASL curriculum, workshops and professional development for interpreters and ASL students. He has traveled the United States as a presenter, performer and ASL coordinator. In instructing ASL and leadership, he holds a BA degree and certificates in CHS and Vista. He graduated from California State University Northridge in Los Angeles and resides in Valley Village, California.

Sorenson VRS is an approved RID CMP sponsor for continuing education activities. Opportunity to earn .6 RID PS CEUs will be available to those who qualify.
